Homemade Oreo Cookies

2 boxes devils-food cake mix

1 1/2 cup shortening

4 eggs

Mix together, roll into balls. You can make them large or small, just depends on how large you want the cookies. (Don't press down, keep balls intact before baking) Cook at 350 for 8 min.

Filling:

1 8oz package cream cheese

1/2 stick of butter

2 to 4 cups powdered sugar (or enough to make the mixture creamy)

2 tsp vanilla

Food coloring if desired

Mix filling ingredients well, spread between 2 cookies and store in sealed container.
