Best Lemonade

Makes 16 one cup servings

At least one hour before serving roll each lemon to soften slightly. I also warm them up in the microwave for about 30 sec. to get more juice out of them.

Squeeze about 5-6 large, or 8-10 small lemons to make 1 1/2 cups of juice.

Prepare syrup:

In a one quart picture stir in 1 1/2 cups sugar

1 1/2 cups very hot water

1 TBS grated lemon peel

Mix until sugar is dissolved. Add lemon juice and refrigerate. I taste it at this point and make sure it is sweet enough, if too sour add a little bit more sugar.

To make each serving, measure 1/4 cup syrup and pour over ice cubes in 12 oz. glass. Stir in 3/4 cup cold water. Garnish with lemon slices.

You can also add one or two TBS Tortino's raspberry flavoring into each glass to make raspberry lemonade.

I also think you could pour the leftover syrup into ice cube tray and freeze and then store in a ziplock bag. Then when you want a glass of lemonade just take out two and put in a glass, unthaw in the microwave and add ice and water.
